Welcome to Futuraskolan International School of Stockholm!
Dear Futuraskolan International School Community.
It is with great honor and excitement that I introduce myself, Nicole MacDonald, as the new Principal at Futuraskolan International School of Stockholm. Many of you, returning families I know, and many of you, new members of community, I hope to get to know this coming year. My passion for education and supporting the success of all students has been shaped over the past 15 years as many incarnations of a classroom/subject teacher, a curriculum developer and accreditor, assistant principal, and, now, principal.
My number one priority at Futuraskolan International School is to ensure that every student receives the most well-rounded education possible. A well-rounded education means outstanding instruction from top-notch teachers, as well as opportunities and supports that enable students to develop character, cultivate passions, and explore the world outside of the classroom.
As the Principal, I am committed to ensuring that student needs and interests help shape instruction and extracurricular opportunities. Through this shared commitment to learning, I am excited to see students engaged in debate in the classroom, scoring the winning point on the field, performing in the musical, or any other area that peaks student interest and passion. Most importantly, an excellent education is not possible without the great collaboration of students, parents, and staff.
It is my intention to maintain a clear line of efficient and effective communication with students, parents, and staff. If you send me an email, I will respond within 48 hours. If you have a concern about something, send me an email or call saying that you would like to set up a time to meet and I will see you (parents and students) as soon as possible. I have an open door policy which will only be closed when in meetings so I will be there to hear you.
This first year as the Principal of Futuraskolan International School of Stockholm I will not be making any big changes, we have just successfully completed two major academic curriculum accreditations, with aim to start the process of another CIS/MSA accreditation later this academic year. I want to spend my first year, in this role, building trust and learning.
