Astro Pi Mission Space Lab

Incredible news! Two of our MS teams participated in the Astro Pi Mission Space Lab from September to February, where they coded a program to calculate the speed of light using sensors on the International Space Station (ISS) powered by Rasberry pi.

Both our teams Futura 1 and Futura 2 have achieved FLIGHT STATUS! This means their code will be run on the ISS between April and May 2025 and the teams will receive their data and official certificates in June.

A huge congratulations to both our teams:
Futura 1 – Punika, Rohan Maheswaran, Sayak, and Shreyan
Futura 2 – Stanislav, Rohan Gore, Revanth, Priyanshu and Divij

They brought together skills, creativity, and enthusiasm, but above all they demonstrated remarkable teamwork throughout the journey. It was truly a pleasure mentoring them and a joy to see them grow with curiosity, perseverance, and passion. This is an incredible achievement to be proud of! 🌟

To celebrate this success, ESA Project Astronaut Sławosz Uznański has shared a special video message with our teams to thank them for their participation.

Fieldwork Education Interviews Futuraskolan International’s Maria Koutsoupaki

We are proud of Maria Koutsoupaki, English teacher and IMYC Curriculum Coordinator at Futuraskolan International School of Stockholm.

The Knowledge Harvest is a pre-assessment that takes place in the early stages of each unit both as part of the IPC and the IMYC. It gives the students an opportunity to reveal what they already know about a subject. The teacher can, through this, more effectively plan how to go further teaching the students about the unit on an individual and group basis.

Here you can listen to her talk about The Knowledge Harvest in Practice:

We are so proud of our team here at Futuraskolan International School of Stockholm speaking so passionately about the curricula and representing our entire Futuraskolan organization in such a professional manner.

In the IPC video Futuraskolan International is featured together with a Danish and a UK school. In it, you will see Futuraskolan International School of Stockholm’s:

In the IMYC video our Futuraskolan teachers are the ONLY ones showcasing the curriculum, they’re not sharing the stage with any other school! In the video, you will see Futuraskolan International School of Stockholm’s:
